Upskill at Kent State Launches this Fall
Kent State University’s Regional Campus System is launching a new series of workforce development programs designed to help local professionals strengthen the essential skills needed in today’s workplace. The program, titled “Upskill at Kent State – Bringing Workforce Development to Your Community,” is part of a statewide initiative at all eight Kent State locations across the Regional Campus System.
Beginning this September, the workshops are designed for professionals in business, manufacturing, education, health care, government, and nonprofit organizations who want to enhance their leadership, communication, and team-building skills. Each day-long, in-person session is practical, energizing, and tailored to the real challenges of today’s workplace.
“Essential skills like communication, emotional intelligence, and time management are what set strong professionals and organizations apart,” said Senior Director, Professional and Workforce Education Diana Gardner. “We’re excited to bring this program directly into our community, so people don’t have to travel far to access high-quality training.”
Over the course of the academic year, up to 16 workshops will be offered across the region—two at each regional campus, one in the fall and one in the spring. Each event will provide professionals with opportunities to gain practical tools, connect with peers, and explore additional training resources available through Kent State.
