Please note that the Early Childhood M.Ed. program has temporarily suspended admissions, as of February 2025. For more information, please contact Dr. Elizabeth Kenyon: ekenyon@kent.edu
- The Early Childhood MAT program is for those individuals who already hold a bachelor's degree in another subject area and who are interested in becoming certified to teach Preschool through Grade 5 in the state of Ohio.
Doctoral Students
The Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction (C& I) currently offers a concentration in Early Childhood Education. An early childhood emphasis within the doctoral program allows graduate students to pursue a primary emphasis in curriculum and instruction and an individual focus in early childhood education. Early childhood core requirements emphasize constructivist teaching, social action, policy building and teacher as researcher. Ph.D. graduate admissions is required.
