What We Do
Benefits of Summer Research institute
- Develop a relationship with a faculty mentor in your major and conduct research for 8 weeks
 - Receive a stipend up to $2800 to provide support during the summer research initiatives
 - Reside in Honors Residence Hall during Summer Research Institute
 - Present research at local and regional conferences with all expenses paid
 - Participate in field trips to facilities in Northeast Ohio
 - Receive academic credit for Honors courses at Kent State University
 - Attend graduate preparation workshops
 - Have access to computer facilities
 - Participate in a graduate school tour
 - Receive academic and personal counseling
 
Academic Year Activities
- Participate in graduate school preparation workshops
 - Participate in workshops to develop soft skills, networking and more
 - Receive individual assistance with graduate school applications
 - Receive financial resources, including fee waivers
 - Develop academic skills
 - Attend cultural, social and team-building events and gatherings
 - Maintain mentorship with a Faculty mentor
 - Present research at conferences
 
Mentoring and Tutoring
- Meet regularly with a Faculty mentor in your major
 - Meet regularly with McNair Staff
 - Receive advice from and network with faculty in your field
 - Receive individual tutoring
 - Have access to personal and academic counseling
