Supportive Measures

The Title IX Coordinator determines appropriate and reasonably available supportive measures on a case-by-case basis. These measures are intended to restore or preserve equal access to the educational program or activity without imposing an undue burden on the other party. Supportive measures also serve to protect the safety of all parties, maintain the integrity of the educational environment, and deter sexual harassment.

Supportive measures may include, but are not limited to:

  • Mutual no contact directives
  • Extensions of deadlines or other course-related adjustments
  • Modifications to work or class schedules
  • Changes in work or housing locations
  • Changes in reporting relationships
  • Removal of a program participant, supplier/contractor, volunteer, or visitor
  • Referrals to campus and community resources such as advocacy, counseling, disability services, financial aid, health services, immigration assistance, safety and transportation services
