Kent State Earns Perfect Score in State's Science of Reading Audit
The Ohio Department of Higher Education Science of Reading Audit of educator preparation programs found that Kent State University鈥檚 preservice teacher literacy coursework was deemed 鈥渋n alignment鈥 with a score of 100% and no mandatory recommendations for improvement.

New Partnership Between Kent State and Bio-Med Science Academy STEM School to Bring Elementary Education Back to University鈥檚 Schwartz Center
Beginning fall 2027, Bio-Med Science Academy will relocate its grades K-6 programs to Kent State University鈥檚 Schwartz Center. The Schwartz Center, which opened in 1956 as the home of the Kent State University School, a laboratory school that served generations of student teachers, will return to its original purpose as a school building.
Kent State Board of Trustees Announces Partnership With Bio-Med Science Academy
Kent State University鈥檚 Board of Trustees approved a new partnership between the university and Bio-Med Science Academy STEM School that will bring new life to the underutilized Michael Schwartz Center building while providing the public STEM school with a state-of-the-art facility for its elementary grades. The Board鈥檚 vote of approval came during its regular quarterly meeting held Dec. 11.
